New York City Hospital Executive Accomplished in Advancing "Triple Aim" in Care, Health and Cost
RED BANK, NJ --(Marketwired - March 30, 2016) - Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Health Group today announced that Vito Buccellato, MPA, LNHA, a New York City hospital executive accomplished in streamlining operations, improving patient experience and advancing quality outcomes, has joined VNA Health Group in a newly created position, as chief operating officer, VNA institutes and services, reporting to president and CEO, Steven Landers, MD, MPH.
In this role, Buccellato has oversight of the strategic direction, expansion and operation of VNA Health Group's three new programmatic institutes, private care services, IT support and analytics, maintenance and facilities among other teams. Buccellato is also directing initiatives across the agency to enhance quality patient experience for the more than 120,000 individuals it cares for each year by more than 2,000 employees.

Buccellato previously was chief operating officer at Coney Island Hospital where he oversaw daily operations and service delivery for the 371-bed facility. Prior to Coney Island Hospital, Buccellato served in a dual role as executive vice president for long term care, assisted living and adult day care and vice president for clinical services at Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center and the Schulman and Schachne Institute for Nursing and Rehab. There he oversaw operations for post-acute care services such as long-term care, assisted living and adult day care. He also directed operations of the 525-bed facility including the level 1 trauma center, level 3 NICU and an emergency department that had more than 100,000 visits annually. Buccellato recently published an article in the peer-reviewed Journal of Hospital Administration (2016) and has served as vice-chairman of the board of directors of Medysis Employees Federal Credit Union and as a board of director of Neighborhood Health Providers.
